‘Twilight’ Casting News: Bryce Dallas Howard Replacing Rachelle Lefevre In ‘Eclipse’

Bryce Dallas Howard is joining the “Twilight” franchise.

The “Terminator Salvation” star will replace Rachelle Lefevre in the role of Victoria, according to Summit Entertainment, which produces the vampire film series based on the books by Stephenie Meyer.

“We are incredibly happy that Bryce has agreed to come into the franchise,” Erik Feig, Summit’s President of Worldwide Production and Acquisitions, said in a statement to Access Hollywood. “Rachelle brought ‘Victoria’ to great screen life and Bryce will bring a new dimension to the character. The franchise is lucky to have such a talented actress as Bryce coming in to fill the role.”

Summit said Rachelle would not be continuing on as Victoria, an evil vampire out for revenge over the death of her lover, due to scheduling conflicts.

Bryce, the daughter of director Ron Howard, will take over the role beginning in “Eclipse,” the third installment in the “Twilight” series.

“Eclipse” begins filming in Vancouver this coming August, Summit confirmed. The film will be released in theaters on June 30, 2010.

Twilight star Christian Serratos talks Eclipse

Twilight star Christian Serratos, aka Bella’s high school pal Angela Weber, has a job many girls would just die for — she gets to be on set with Robert Pattinson and the rest of the vamp-movie gang all day. So does she think R-Pattz’s new reputation as a ladies’ man is deserved? OK! chatted with Christian at the Charlotte Russe 2009 Fall Launch in NYC, and we asked if the thought Edward Cullen had turned into a playboy since skyrocketing to fame over the last year.

“I don’t think so,” says Christian, adding that if has changed, Robert has gone in the opposite direction.

“If anything he’s become more humble and more introverted,” Christian tells OK!.

So what about the romance with Kristen Stewart? Christian teased us with a sort of yes, sort of no on whether the two are together.

“I truly don’t know, I don’t know. There is a possibility,” Christian reveals. “There’s a possibility that it’s all BS, I just don’t know. It’s going to be interesting finding out either way.”

Christian and the rest of the cast will be reunited on the set of Eclipse in August, something she’s excited about.

“I feel like we’re all going to have a blast. I feel like we all know our characters and we’ve all had a lot of help with Stephanie [Meyer], too,” she explains. “She’s there on set and if we have a question, she’ll answer our question. She’s just really chill. She’s really supportive. She likes what everyone’s doing, so I think everyone just wants to make her happy, as well as the fans, so it works out.”

Official: Xavier Samuel cast as Riley of Twilight movie 'Eclipse'

LITTLE known young Australian actor Xavier Samuel has been plucked from nowhere to be positioned as the next Hollywood heart-throb after landing a major role in the third of the Twilight film series, Eclipse.

The 25-year-old Adelaide-born and Sydney-based actor's career has so far focused on small and independent Australian films.

The vampire movies have already made hot properties of Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, the latter now comes with his own travelling pack of obsessive teen fans.

"I'm in a bit of a daze but it's a wonderful bit of news," Samuel exclusively told Confidential from Los Angeles last night.

Samuel has only recently hit Tinseltown after appearing in five small Australian films including Newcastle, where he played a Goth teenager among a group of surfers, September and the upcoming Road Train, where he stars as one of a group of teens terrorised by an out-of-control truck.

In Eclipse he takes on the role of a newborn vampire named Riley, a good-looking university student involved in a plot to kill Stewart's character Bella.

Samuel is still getting his head around the Twilight phenomenon.

"I managed to catch the film on the way over on the plane," he said. He admitted he's not read any of the best-selling books of the series - yet.

"I'm going to start reading the first one tonight."

Aussie actor cast in Twilight movie Eclipse as Riley

Little-known Aussie actor Xavier Samuel is headed for the big time after landing a role in one of the hottest movie franchises around: Twilight.

Samuel has been cast in Eclipse, the third film in the Twilight series based on the best-selling books by Stephenie Meyer, his management company Shanahan Management told AAP.

He will play Riley, a good-looking college student and newborn vampire, who joins villain Victoria’s plot to murder Bella (Kristen Stewart).

“I’m really thrilled, but also very overwhelmed, I don’t think it has sunk in yet,” Samuel said.

“This is a fantastic opportunity and I’m really excited to be part of the film.”

Eclipse follows Bella as she tries to choose between two loves: the vampire Edward (Robert Pattinson) and werewolf Jacob (Taylor Lautner).

The first movie, Twilight, has made $US382 million ($475 million) worldwide since it was released in November last year, and the second film, New Moon, is due in cinemas in November.

Eclipse is due to start filming in Vancouver, Canada, next month and is due for release in June 2010.

Samuel has starred in Australian films like 2:37, Newcastle and September, but Eclipse will be his first US film.

He is currently in Los Angeles but will return to Australia later this month for the premiere of his new film The Loved Ones at the Melbourne International Film Festival.

'Eclipse' Casting Call: Tom Felton Could Play Riley In The Third 'Twilight' Movie

Maybe its his boyish good looks, his charming smile or his perfectly mastered snarl, but there's something about Tom Felton that makes us want more. The "Harry Potter" star is sure to wow audiences with his tortured portrayal of Draco Malfoy in tomorrow's (!) "Half-Blood Prince" and maybe even earn some Oscar buzz now that the Academy Awards have opened themselves up to 10 nominees.

But, there is a different sort of buzz going on from a fan circuit often found opposing "Harry Potter": "Twilight" fans are clamoring for Tom to play Victoria's lackey Riley in 2010's "Eclipse."

Tom isn't the first guy "Twilight" fans have latched onto for the role. First Melissa Rosenberg, screenplay scribe for "The Twilight Saga," threw a curveball when she told E! News she pictured Channing Tatum as Riley in the epic battle at the end of "Eclipse." Then, Evil Iguana Productions fans rampaged the comments section of the article begging for Craig Deering to be cast as the role of Riley. Tom is one in a long line of fan-favorites to play the role, but he is quickly becoming the most popular.

"Ill be ready when they want me! Really, I'm only joking. Im not really sure at this point; but you will be the first to know if I find out anything!" Tom told his fansite, Feltbeats.com. He reiterated the sentiment on his Twitter, saying, "i keep getting asked if im being cast as Riley in Twilight! Ill let you all know if so!!!"

If Tom does make the cut, he will join Robert Pattinson as the second actor to make the jump between series, though newcomer Jamie Campbell Bower is also going to be joining the fray as Caius in "New Moon" and Gellert Grindelwald in "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" Part 1 and 2.

Twilight Filming Set for Breaking Dawn After New Moon and Eclipse

Only days after Twilight news that the third film in the Twilight Saga, Eclipse, would begin filming on August 17, 2009, Twilight related details about the fourth Twilight film, Breaking Dawn, have come down the New Moon pike thanks in part to the confirmations of Robert Pattinson and Ashley Greene who reveal that Breaking Dawn will begin filming immediately after Eclipse.

If there was any thought that the current Twilight Saga filming schedule was clipping along at a furious Twilight pace, the news that Breaking Dawn has already slid into pre-production is now putting the stars of the Twilight Saga, which also includes Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner and Peter Facinelli, into a Twilight shooting overdrive.

The Breaking Dawn novel was released on August 2, 2008 and sold over 1.3 million copies in only 24 hours. Stephenie Meyer, the author of the Twilight Saga, has also been credited as co-screenwriter next to main scriptwriter Melissa Rosenberg who penned the first three films.

One could say that executives at Summit Entertainment are obviously seeing the impending implosion of the vampire craze given the breakneck speed at which the Twilight Saga sequels are being produced. Breaking Dawn will focus on Bella and Jacob’s perspectives following Eclipse, which is slated to wrap filming on October 31 before Breaking Dawn gets underway soon after.

But here’s the funny part of the latest Twilight, Breaking Dawn news that happens on each Twilight film like clockwork:

Robert Pattinson has already signed on for Breaking Dawn but it appears that Kristen Stewart is only “rumoured” to be attached to the fourth Twilight Saga movie.

You have to wonder whether Breaking Dawn would ever slide into pre-production if there was a chance Stewart wouldn’t sign on to Breaking Dawn. Step back and ask the question whether the Twilight Saga would have ever been started in the first place if any of the actors wouldn’t be able to continue their journey through all four Twilight Saga movies.

Summit Confirms Schedule for ‘Twilight Saga: Eclipse’

There have been rumors since the massive success of the first that Summit Entertainment would shoot the second and third movies in the Twilight saga back-to-back. They turned out to be false, but not far off. Several reports have indicated an early summer shooting schedule for The Twilight Saga: New Moon, which wrapped in May, followed by a late summer start for the next Stephenie Meyer novel adaptation, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.

The Production Weekly twitter page has announced an August 17 start date through October 31, 2009 for Eclipse. Like the last one, filming will be underway at Vancouver Film Studios. Also shooting there (starting in September) is Zack Snyder’s new girl power movie, Sucker Punch.

Directing is David Slade (30 Days of Night) who once joked he’d rather be shot than watch the original Twilight. Joining him in Canada for the agony of screaming fans are the usual cast of characters, including Robert Pattinson (Edward), Kristen Stewart (Bella), Taylor Lautner (Jacob), and more. The story centers on Victoria (Rachelle Lefevre from the first movie) creating an army of new vampires to get her revenge on Bella and the Cullen family. They must join forces with Jacob’s werewolf pack in order to defeat them. The third installment is slated for a June 30, 2010 release. Is anyone excited for this? I can’t tell. I haven’t heard anything from fans…
