Eclipse Stars Xavier Samuel, Bryce Dallas Howard Stroll Through Vancouver

Rabid Twilight fans camped out in Vancouver, Canada -- where the third installment in the Twilight series, Eclipse is currently filming -- got a two-for-one treat Sunday, as a pair of its stars, Xavier Samuel and Bryce Dallas Howard, walked the streets along with Dallas Howard’s husband, Seth Gabel, and son, Theodore Norman Gabel.

The three grown-ups all sported cool shades, while adorable Theodore Norman, 2, relaxed in his stroller until taking a ride on daddy's shoulders.

Eclipse hits theatres June 30, 2010, but as Twilight fans know, the highly-anticipated second installment in the Twilight series, New Moon, hits theatres November 20, 2009.

'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse' barn scene revealed

Last night, on the set of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, many on-lookers snapped photographs and videos of the production crew setting up a big, red barn.

The consensus seems to be that the scene being shot involves two vampires in some sort of dream sequence. Most agree that this is probably related to Jasper (Jackson Rathbone) and his experience with the character Maria (which has been cast with Catalina Sandino Moreno).

About a month ago, Eclipse director David Slade used his Twitter to tease fans about potential filming locations for the newborn hideout and battlefield. While the recipe for those sequences might not call for a barn, it is indeed a possibility.

If it is Jasper's backstory that the barn is being used for, though, there are a few select sequences to choose from. Obviously, Jasper's transformation is a definite possibility, as Maria is responsible for that handiwork. Also, the Southern Wars - battle sequences in which Jasper learns to fight and winds up protecting Maria against her many newborns - are a potentiality. The fact that Rathbone has been taking horseback riding lessons, perhaps, might be the deal-sealer on that conclusion.

Jodelle Ferland: Eclipse's Nameless Teen Vamp

Jodelle Ferland has been sworn to secrecy. She's not allowed to say much about the part she just landed in the third Twilight movie, Eclipse.

"I'm allowed to tell people that I play a vampire who has just been turned," the 14-year-old Canadian actress tells me. "In other words, I'm a newborn vampire. I'm not allowed to say the name of the character."

So if she won't say whether her character is Team Edward or Team Jacob, what's her pick in real life?

It's Team Edward all the way for Jodelle.

Keep reading to find out why...

"I just think if maybe Jacob had been introduced first then everybody would like him better," she said. "It just seems that since Edward was the first one to be with Bella, people want him to stay with her. So, you know, that's the character that you start to like first! And then Jacob comes into the picture and everybody's like, 'Oh, no! Stay with Edward.'"

Jodelle says she's "really, really excited to meet Robert Pattinson." As are her friends. "Every single person I've told has asked me if they could come to the set," she said, adding with a laugh, "I've said, 'I'll have to think about that.'"

How did Jodelle celebrate snagging a part in what's destined to be one of the most successful movie franchises ever?

"You know, I was just thinking about that yesterday," she said. "I was just thinking that I haven't done anything yet. I need to think of something. Basically, I just jumped up and down and then I went into my room and watched a movie on my mini-DVD player.

"Actually, it wasn't a movie," she continued. "I was watching The Addams Family—the old ones, not the movie."

That sounds like a suitably ghoulish celebration for what could be the start of a monster career.

Catalina Sandino Moreno will see an 'Eclipse'

"Eclipse" has found its Maria, and she's full of grace.

Producers on Summit's third "Twilight" pic have cast Catalina Sandino Moreno, best-known for playing the title character in the indie drama "Maria Full of Grace," to play the vampire character of Maria.

The CAA-repped actress will take on the role of a woman who tries to create a newborn army of vampires, recruiting the Confederate soldier Jasper to her cause. In Stephenie Meyer's book, the character is described as a petite brunette with a soft voice.

The Colombian-born Sandino Moreno most notably starred in "Grace," in which she played a pregnant teacher who becomes a drug mule, as well as Steven Soderbergh's epic "Che" and the upcoming indie drama "Frail," in which she plays the title character, who's described as a naive Midwestern girl.

The actress joins an "Eclipse" ensemble that -- in addition to stars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner -- includes Jack Huston as a human who lived during the Great Depression, Xavier Samuel as a newborn vampire named Riley and Bryce Dallas Howard as the villainous Victoria, The actress replaces Rachel Lefevre last month in what amounted to a controversial casting switch.

"Eclipse," directed by David Slade, begins shooting next week in Vancouver.

Jack Huston will play Royce King II in the sequel

Jack Huston has fanged his way on to Summit Entertainment's threequel "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse."

'Eclipse' Is 'Big On Fighting,' Kellan Lutz And Jackson Rathbone Say

'We're all hitting the gym pretty hard so we can have the endurance,' Lutz tells MTV News at Teen Choice Awards.

So when they rolled into the Teen Choice Awards to pick up an evening's best 11 trophies, they had a brief respite to celebrate the past ("Twilight"), talk about the present ("New Moon") and prepare themselves for the future ("Eclipse").

"Oh, it's exciting, man," Jackson Rathbone told us about recent meetings the actors have had with David Slade, the bloodthirsty "30 Days of Night" director who will oversee them for the soon-to-shoot third film in the series. "We've all met with him. We've all been up to Vancouver doing training and getting ready for all the action."

But since Rathbone plays Civil War soldier-turned-vampire Jasper Hale — and confirmed to us that Jasper's 1863 transformation will be included in "Eclipse" as a flashback — the charismatic star has been blessed with one bit of training that the other Cullens don't get to partake in.

"Horseback training," Kellan Lutz sighed. "I'm jealous."

"Yeah, I've spent two and a half hours a day riding horses and two and a half hours a day fighting," Rathbone revealed of his preparation for "Eclipse," the plot of which will depend far more heavily on Jasper, Emmett and the other Cullens than the first two films. "We've been training in the gym."

" 'Eclipse' is big on fighting, so Jasper trains all of us," Lutz said of a key sequence in the book that has Rathbone's war veteran teaching the werewolves and vampires fighting techniques in order to defend themselves against newborn vampires. "All of us characters are actually going through fight training, stunt training. We're all hitting the gym pretty hard so we can have the endurance."

The noticeably larger Lutz, who has spoken before of his desire to be an action hero, said he can't wait to unleash Emmett in full form. "You can't really do scenes like that, that are so crucial, [unless you train]. You need to know what you're doing, you need to know how to take blocks, how to go on the offense, prepare yourself for defense," he explained. "It's a lot of training, but it's great when we're all done with the training and get to shoot it."

"Yeah," Rathbone laughed. "Once all the black eyes and bloody lips heal."

Vancouver actor to sink teeth into Eclipse

Home-school student turned global phenomenon, Jodelle Ferland, 14, 'won't hide' from recognition -- or her thousands of new Twitter followers

Jodelle Micah Ferland didn't know much about Stephenie Meyer's vampire saga before Twilight was released late last year, but she's catching up fast.

She should. The 14-year-old Vancouverite has just landed a coveted role in Eclipse, the third film in the series. Since seeing the first film with friends and auditioning for the role, she borrowed and read all four books.

"I hadn't heard much about Twilight when it first came out," she said in a phone interview from Playland.

"I'm home-schooled so sometimes I don't hear about things like that," she said. "But my friends were all freaking out about Twilight and I was like 'What's that?'"

"Now I know what it is, obviously," she laughed.

She's up to speed now and entering a whole new world of notoriety. Since Twittering the news about being cast in the film, Ferland has been gaining about 100 new Twitter followers an hour.

"I got about 2,000 new followers on the first day," she said. From young actor to global phenomenon with the flick of a switch.

"I got Twitter just a couple of weeks ago and I had 136 followers and I was like 'Wow, I have 136 followers,'" she said. "And then the Twilight news came out and we checked and it was 800 and something right away."

"I started freaking out, I couldn't believe it."

Ferland has been working in film and television since she was two years old, starring in her first film at the age of four (Mermaid) and playing the lead in a successful suspense thriller (Silent Hill).

She has worked with Rene Zellweger, appeared on Late Night With Conan O'Brien and just-wrapped The Cabin in the Woods written by Joss Whedon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) and Drew Goddard (Lost), but nothing of the magnitude of the Twilight saga.

"I'm so excited," giggled Ferland. "It's not that I didn't think I would get the role, it's just that things like this never happen. I'm still having a hard time believing it."

Eclipse will be Ferland's second time working with Twilight star Kristen Stewart, who plays Bella Swan, the mortal teen who falls for vampire Edward Cullen, played by Robert Pattinson.

Stewart and Ferland appeared in The Messengers, a film about children who can see otherwise invisible supernatural horrors.

Ferland concedes she is often cast in horror films and television shows with a supernatural angle. Indeed, her list of acting credits is long as her arm.

"I've never played a vampire before so I am really excited about that," she said.

The Internet rumour mill has Ferland cast as newly turned vampire Bree, a vampire soldier in a ravenous army bent on avenging the death of Victoria's partner James.

"I'm not allowed to say, but I can tell you I am playing a newborn vampire," she confirmed.

"But I'm not a newborn, I'm newly turned; some people don't get that."

So not only will Ferland meet the stars of Twilight, she will likely have to fight some of them.

"I don't know, but that would be fun," she said.

"Usually I read the script before I take a role, but I haven't read this one," she explained. "It's Twilight, of course I'm going to take it."

Despite her lengthy resume, Ferland has always been able to walk down the street without being noticed.

That could all come to an end with Eclipse.

"Some people say that would be so great to be famous and have people ask for your autograph, and that does happen in acting if you get really famous," she said.

"I can't say it's something I'm looking forward to, but I won't hide."

Twilight cast gathers in Vancouver for Eclipse

Vancouver Twi-hards are still waiting for Twilight saga stars Robert Pattinson (Edward Cullen) and Kristen Stewart (Bella Swan) to arrive, but many of the other cast members are already here to begin rehearsing for the shooting of Eclipse.

Taylor Lautner (Jacob Black), Kellan Lutz (Emmet), Nikki Reed (Rosalie) and Ashley Greene (Alice Cullen) are already in town and have been photographed by relentless paparazzi and fans in the airport Monday and strolling downtown in the days since.

Stewart remains in Los Angeles to wrap production of The Runaways, in which she plays tough-as-nails 80s rocker Joan Jett.

Pattinson is in New York City shooting Remember Me. Even in the Big Apple, Pattinson has had a hard time shaking Twilight fans, who chased him into traffic where he was grazed by a taxi cab.

Rehearsals for the new film - based on the third instalment of the Twilight saga by Stephenie Meyer - will begin next week.

Filming is scheduled to get underway Aug. 17, but that could change. Rehearsals for New Moon went so quickly that shooting began a week early.

New Moon production took place in a variety of locations around Metro Vancouver, including Port Coquitlam, Surrey and Tofino on Vancouver Island. All those will be used again for Eclipse, but the storyline will require an urban backdrop, so look for shoots in the heritage district of downtown Vancouver, the only place in B.C. that could stand in for Seattle.

Busy 14-year-old actor Jodelle Ferland announced on Twitter Wednesday that she has accepted a role in the film and gained 2,500 new followers over the next 24 hours.

The Nanaimo-born Ferland appeared the creepy thriller Silent Hill, which grossed nearly $100 million. Ferland worked with Twilight saga lead Kristen Stewart on the 2007 feature The Messenger.

She has recently completed work on Case 39 with Rene Zellweger. Ferland is believed to have the role of Bree, a recently turned vampire bent on revenge.

Fellow Canadian Rachelle Lefevre was dumped from her role as Victoria, in favour of American actor Bryce Dallas Howard.

ET: Twilight screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg talks New Moon and Eclipse

'The Twilight Saga' continues this fall with the release of 'New Moon,' while 'Eclipse' will begin filming this month. ET caught up with screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg, who also is the head writer for "Dexter," to talk about what fans can expect from the next two movies.

ET: What can you tell us about 'New Moon' and 'Eclipse'?

Melissa Rosenberg: It becomes bigger in scope. The first film was really a small romance in a way. There was the battle with James (Cam Gigandet) at the end. That was as big as it got. With 'New Moon,' we have the werewolf clan, we have the Vulturi -- and in 'Eclipse,' there is an epic battle, so with every book, with every episode of the movie, it gets grander in scope, which is fun to write. What was great about that, too, is with the small story and the characters ... to be able to grow with it and track it through, it has really been a great pleasure.

ET: Are you writing for the chemistry between Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart?

Melissa Rosenberg: When I wrote 'Twilight,' I didn't know who was starring in it, so I wrote in a vacuum. There was some rewriting that had to be done when we knew who they were, because I had started with more of a comedic edge and it wasn't appropriate for those actors and the tone. I lean toward the dark comedy, witness "Dexter." So, going into 'New Moon' and 'Eclipse,' I knew who I was writing for. I knew who the characters were and what their voices were. It got even easier with 'Eclipse.' [Author] Stephenie Meyer's created the character's chemistry; and those two actors brought so much chemistry. I don't think the movies would have been so successful without those two actors and their chemistry. 'Twilight' was beautifully cast.

ET: What was the set of 'New Moon' like?

Melissa Rosenberg: 'New Moon' was one of the happiest sets I have ever been on. The guy who picked me up, said, "This is a great set. [Director] Chris Weitz is a genius. It is so wonderful." I was, "Okay, dude, you are overselling." But I got on the set and it was just delightful. You can tell when it is uncomfortable and they are not connecting. Chris Weitz is just a Zen master. I went to him and I was, "You are so cool and calm. And everyone is so cool and calm." He said, "You have no idea what it is going to cost me." My husband is a director and I know what it costs him. You have to tamp down every ounce of panic and frustration in order to project this calmness. I hope Chris got a good vacation between production and post.

ET: What do you think of the recasting of Rachelle Lefevre?

Melissa Rosenberg: I love Rachelle, but Bryce Dallas Howard? It was a shame, but I think Rachelle will go on to do brilliant things. I just love her. I am sure Bryce will be great.

ET: There is a fourth book. Will the franchise continue?

Melissa Rosenberg: I can't imagine Summit letting that go. Right now we are focused on 'Eclipse.' We are just about to start. I imagine there will be discussions.

'Twilight' Stars Address Rachelle Lefevre Controversy

At TwiCon, Peter Facinelli and Jackson Rathbone discuss actress' replacement in "Eclipse."

Although there was a lot of fun to be had at TwiCon over the weekend, there was an elephant in the room few celebrities would address. While Twilighters took sides and spoke passionately about the recent replacement of Rachelle Lefevre as evil vampire Victoria for the third installment of the "Twilight" series, some of the saga's stars refused to answer questions on the controversial matter — for understandable reasons.

A pair of high-profile stars who began the mega-franchise with Lefevre, however, did agree to speak with us on the record. And they were eager to say that they've spent the last few days sharing one key emotion with their fans: sadness.

"Who?" said Peter Facinelli, trying to force a grin when we brought up the headline-garnering story.

"I can say that I'm saddened that the dates didn't work out," the affable actor explained, referring to both Lefevre's and Summit's claims that a 10-day shooting overlap with another film was the reason she will be replaced by Bryce Dallas Howard in "Eclipse."

Asked if he had been keeping up on the news, Jackson Rathbone replied, "I have, I have," getting serious as he spoke about the subject. "You know, Rachelle's a dear friend, and I'll miss her terribly."

The uncommonly public dispute has put the stars in an uncomfortable position, as they have to balance their words carefully about having a friend and co-worker fired while at the same time not badmouthing their boss.

"I really can't say anything on the business side," said Rathbone, who spent the weekend signing autographs, performing with his band 100 Monkeys, and even participating in a "Coffee With Jackson Rathbone" brunch. "Rachelle is an amazing actress and an amazing woman."

If there is a silver lining to the cloud, however, it's that the new Victoria is an award-caliber actress of the highest order. "I'm excited to work with her," Facinelli said of Howard. "But again, I'm deeply saddened that Rachelle is not going to be in 'Eclipse.' "

"I love [Lefevre] like a sister; it deeply saddens me," he added. "But you know, the show must go on. We're going to embrace Bryce Dallas Howard — and I hope that the fans do, too."

"I would love to work with Rachelle again," reasoned Rathbone. "I'm really sad that I'm not going to get to work with her on the final film of the franchise we started together."

German reality show casts an extra for 'Eclipse'; Jackson Rathbone expresses congratulations

A few months back, gossip around the internet suggested that Germany was to host a reality show designed to rival Germany’s Next Top Model. The premise was to find the perfect girl to land a role in the third movie of the Twilight Saga, Eclipse.

The rumor ended up being true; Germany did, in fact, go through with the reality show on the network RTL. Reuters reported:

“Mission Hollywood” is no joke. The show, which premieres June 8 in primetime on leading German network RTL, features Til Schweiger, Germany’s biggest star, and the prize — a role in one of the “Twilight” sequels — is enough to entice even the most skeptical would-be thespian.

RTL and production house Tresor TV also have secured an impressive lineup of jury judges to assess the talent. Permanent jury members Schweiger and famed acting coach Bernhard Hiller will be joined every week by a third juror, among them Carmen Electra, producer Erwin Stoff (”The Day the Earth Stood Still“) and German A-list actors Thomas Kretschmann and Moritz Bleibtreu.

Once filming began, however, reports suggest that the show flopped. From the Hollywood Reporter:

It was planned as a clever way to capitalize on the dual success of "you can be a star" reality shows and the "Twilight" franchise. In "Mission Hollywood," on commercial network RTL, 12 young actresses compete for a role in the next "Twilight" movie.

But despite massive hype ahead of the show's premiere and the local superstar status of actor host Til Schweiger, "Mission Hollywood" has been a ratings flop. "Mission Hollywood" debuted with an 8.2% market share, well below RTL's average, and has moved south ever since.

Now RTL has pulled the plug, moving "Mission Hollywood" from Monday primetime to Saturday afternoons. RTL will fill the primetime gap with reruns of its hit reality show "Rach, the Restaurant Tester."

Rachelle Lefevre ‘Stunned’ Over ‘Eclipse’ Recasting

Summit Entertainment announced the replacement of “Twilight Saga” star Rachelle Lefevre in the series’ third film, “Eclipse,” on Tuesday night – and fans weren’t the only ones surprised by the news — Rachelle was shocked as well!

“I was stunned by Summit’s decision to recast the role of Victoria for ‘Eclipse,’” Rachelle said in a statement to Access Hollywood.

On Tuesday, Summit announced that Bryce Dallas Howard would be taking on the role in “Eclipse,” due in May 2010.

“I was fully committed to the ‘Twilight’ saga, and to the portrayal of Victoria,” Rachelle continued, explaining the turn of events that led to the casting change. “I turned down several other film opportunities and, in accordance with my contractual rights, accepted only roles that would involve very short shooting schedules. My commitment to ‘Barney’s Version’ is only ten days. Summit picked up my option for ‘Eclipse.’ Although the production schedule for ‘Eclipse’ is over three months long, Summit said they had a conflict during those ten days and would not accommodate me. Given the length of filming for ‘Eclipse,’ never did I fathom I would lose the role over a 10 day overlap. I was happy with my contract with Summit and was fully prepared to continue to honor it. Summit chose simply to recast the part.”

The star concluded her statement with a regretful tone.

“I am greatly saddened that I will not get to complete my portrayal of Victoria for the ‘Twilight’ audience. This is a story, a theatrical journey and a character that I truly love and about which I am very passionate. I will be forever grateful to the fan support and loyalty I’ve received since being cast for this role, and I am hurt deeply by Summit’s surprising decision to move on without me. I wish the cast and crew of ‘Eclipse’ only the very best,” she said.

Rachelle will appear in the series’ next film, “New Moon,” due Nov. 20.
